33 Jacob said, “Swear to me now.” So he swore to him and sold his birthright to Jacob. (Heb 12:16) 

New International Version

33 But Jacob said, ‘Swear to me first.’ So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob. 

New International Reader’s Version

33 But Jacob said, ‘First promise to sell me your rights.’ So Esau promised to do it. He sold Jacob all the rights that belonged to him as the eldest son.
