Galatians 3:23

English Standard Version

23 Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed. (1Pe 1:5) 

New International Version

23 Before the coming of this faith,[1] we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. 

New International Reader’s Version

23 Before faith in Christ came, we were guarded by the law. We were locked up until this faith was made known. 

King James Version

23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
