3 As soon as I heard this, I tore my garment and my cloak and pulled hair from my head and beard and sat appalled. (Jos 7:6; Ne 1:4) 

New International Version

3 When I heard this, I tore my tunic and cloak, pulled hair from my head and beard and sat down appalled. 

New International Reader’s Version

3 When I heard that, I tore my inner robe and my coat. I pulled hair from my head and beard. I was so shocked I sat down.

3 And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonied.
