English Standard Version

6 And in the reign of Ahasuerus, in the beginning of his reign, they wrote an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem. (Es 1:1; Da 9:1) 

New International Version

6 At the beginning of the reign of Xerxes,[1] they lodged an accusation against the people of Judah and Jerusalem. 

New International Reader’s Version

6 The enemies of the Jews brought charges against the people of Judah and Jerusalem. It happened when Xerxes began to rule over Persia.
