2 “What do you[1] mean by repeating this proverb concerning the land of Israel, ‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge’? (Jer 31:29; Eze 12:22; Eze 16:44) 

New International Version

2 ‘What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land of Israel: ‘ “The parents eat sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge”? 

New International Reader’s Version

2 ‘You people have a proverb about the land of Israel. What do you mean by it? It says, ‘ “The parents eat sour grapes. But the children have a bitter taste in their mouths.” 

King James Version

2 What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children' teeth are set on edge?
