Exodus 17:16

English Standard Version

16 saying, “A hand upon the throne[1] of the Lord! The Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.” (Ex 17:14) 

New International Version

16 He said, ‘Because hands were lifted up against[1] the throne of the Lord,[2] the Lord will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

16 He said, ‘The Amalekites opposed the authority of the LORD. So the LORD will fight against the Amalekites for all time to come.’ 

King James Version

16 For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.
