Deuteronomy 20:7

English Standard Version

7 And is there any man who has betrothed a wife and has not taken her? Let him go back to his house, lest he die in the battle and another man take her.’ (De 24:5; De 28:30) 

New International Version

7 Has anyone become pledged to a woman and not married her? Let him go home, or he may die in battle and someone else marry her.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

7 Has anyone promised to be married to a woman but hasn’t done it yet? Let him go home. If he doesn’t, he might die in battle. Then someone else will marry her.’ 

King James Version

7 And what man is there that hath betrothed a wife, and hath not taken her? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her.
