39 Now when it was day, they did not recognize the land, but they noticed a bay with a beach, on which they planned if possible to run the ship ashore. (Ac 28:1) 

New International Version

39 When daylight came, they did not recognise the land, but they saw a bay with a sandy beach, where they decided to run the ship aground if they could. 

New International Reader’s Version

39 When daylight came, they saw a bay with a sandy beach. They didn’t recognise the place. But they decided to run the ship onto the beach if they could. 

King James Version

39 And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.
