2 Thessalonians 2:13

13 But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits[1] to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. (De 33:12; Eph 1:4; 1Th 1:4; 1Th 4:3; 1Th 5:9; 2Th 1:3; 2Ti 1:9)

13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits[1] to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.

13 Brothers and sisters, we should always thank God for you. The Lord loves you. That’s because God chose you as the first to be saved. Salvation comes through the Holy Spirit’s work. He makes people holy. It also comes through believing the truth.
