2 Samuel 2:1

English Standard Version

1 After this David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah?” And the Lord said to him, “Go up.” David said, “To which shall I go up?” And he said, “To Hebron.” (Jos 14:13; 1Sa 22:10) 

New International Version

1 In the course of time, David enquired of the Lord. ‘Shall I go up to one of the towns of Judah?’ he asked. The Lord said, ‘Go up.’ David asked, ‘Where shall I go?’ ‘To Hebron,’ the Lord answered. 

New International Reader’s Version

1 After Saul and Jonathan died, David asked the LORD for advice. ‘Should I go up to one of the towns of Judah?’ he asked. The LORD said, ‘Go up.’ David asked, ‘Where should I go?’ ‘To Hebron’, the LORD answered. 

King James Version

1 And it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD said unto him, Go up. And David said, Whither shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron.
