2 Chronicles 25:4

English Standard Version

4 But he did not put their children to death, according to what is written in the Law, in the Book of Moses, where the Lord commanded, “Fathers shall not die because of their children, nor children die because of their fathers, but each one shall die for his own sin.” (De 24:16; Jer 31:30; Eze 18:20) 

New International Version

4 Yet he did not put their children to death, but acted in accordance with what is written in the Law, in the Book of Moses, where the Lord commanded: ‘Parents shall not be put to death for their children, nor children be put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.’ (De 24:16) 

New International Reader’s Version

4 But he didn’t put their children to death. He obeyed what is written in the Law, the Book of Moses. There the LORD commanded, ‘Parents must not be put to death because of what their children do. And children must not be put to death because of what their parents do. People must die because of their own sins.’ (De 24:16) 

King James Version

4 But he slew not their children, but did as it is written in the law in the book of Moses, where the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers, but every man shall die for his own sin.
