17 Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching. (De 21:17; Ro 12:8; 1Co 12:28; 1Th 5:12) 

New International Version

17 The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honour, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching. 

New International Reader’s Version

17 The elders who do the church’s work well are worth twice as much honour. That is true in a special way of elders who preach and teach. 

King James Version

17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
