1 Thessalonians 4:13

English Standard Version

13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. (Le 19:28; De 14:1; 2Sa 12:20; Mr 5:39; Eph 2:12)

New International Version

13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.

New International Reader’s Version

13 Brothers and sisters, we want you to know what happens to those who die. We don’t want you to mourn, as other people do. They mourn because they don’t have any hope.

King James Version

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
