7 And the Lord said to Samuel, “Obey the voice of the people in all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me from being king over them. (Ex 16:8; 1Sa 10:19) 

New International Version

7 And the Lord told him: ‘Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king. 

New International Reader’s Version

7 The LORD told him, ‘Listen to everything the people are saying to you. You are not the one they have turned their backs on. I am the one they do not want as their king. 

King James Version

7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
