42 Then Jonathan said to David, “Go in peace, because we have sworn both of us in the name of the Lord, saying, ‘The Lord shall be between me and you, and between my offspring and your offspring, forever.’” And he rose and departed, and Jonathan went into the city.[1] (1Sa 1:17; 1Sa 20:13; 1Sa 20:15; 1Sa 20:23)

42 Jonathan said to David, ‘Go in peace, for we have sworn friendship with each other in the name of the Lord, saying, “The Lord is witness between you and me, and between your descendants and my descendants for ever.” ’ Then David left, and Jonathan went back to the town.[1]

42 Jonathan said to David, ‘Go in peace. In the name of the LORD we’ve promised to be friends. We have said, “The LORD is a witness between you and me. He’s a witness between your children and my children for ever.” ’ Then David left, and Jonathan went back to the town.
