English Standard Version

35 I went after him and struck him and delivered it out of his mouth. And if he arose against me, I caught him by his beard and struck him and killed him. 

New International Version

35 I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it. 

New International Reader’s Version

35 Then I would go after it and hit it. I would save the sheep it was carrying in its mouth. If it turned round to attack me, I would grab its hair. I would strike it down and kill it. 

King James Version

35 And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.
