English Standard Version

7 Do not be idolaters as some of them were; as it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.” (Ex 32:4; Ex 32:6; 1Co 10:14) 

New International Version

7 Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: ‘The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.’ (Ex 32:6) 

New International Reader’s Version

7 So don’t worship statues of gods, as some of them did. It is written, ‘The people sat down to eat and drink. Then they got up to dance wildly in front of their god.’ (Ex 32:6) 

King James Version

7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
