English Standard Version

7 The son[1] of Carmi: Achan, the troubler of Israel, who broke faith in the matter of the devoted thing; (Jos 6:18; Jos 7:1) 

New International Version

7 The son of Karmi: Achar,[1] who brought trouble on Israel by violating the ban on taking devoted things.[2] 

New International Reader’s Version

7 The son of Karmi was Achar. He brought trouble on Israel. Some things that had been set apart to the LORD in a special way to be destroyed. He took some of those things. When he did that, he disobeyed the LORD’s command. 

King James Version

7 And the sons of Carmi; Achar, the troubler of Israel, who transgressed in the thing accursed.
