Psalm 110

New International Version



1 The Lord says to my lord:[1] ‘Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.’ 2 The Lord will extend your mighty sceptre from Zion, saying, ‘Rule in the midst of your enemies!’ 3 Your troops will be willing on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy splendour, your young men will come to you like dew from the morning’s womb.[2] 4 The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind: ‘You are a priest for ever, in the order of Melchizedek.’ 5 The Lord is at your right hand[3]; he will crush kings on the day of his wrath. 6 He will judge nations, heaping up the dead and crushing the rulers of the whole earth. 7 He will drink from a brook along the way;[4] and so he will lift his head high.

1 A Psalm of David. The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” (Jos 10:24; Ps 8:6; Ps 18:38; Mt 22:44; Mt 26:64; Mr 12:36; Lu 20:42; Ac 2:34; 1Co 15:25; Eph 1:20; Eph 1:22; Col 3:1; Heb 1:3; Heb 1:13; Heb 2:8; Heb 8:1; Heb 10:12; Heb 10:13; Heb 12:2; 1Pe 3:22) 2 The Lord sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your enemies!
