Titus 1:9

9 He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound[1] doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it. (2Th 2:13; 2Th 2:15; 1Ti 1:10; 1Ti 1:15; 2Ti 1:13)

New International Version

9 He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

New International Reader’s Version

9 The message as it has been taught can be trusted. He must hold firmly to it. Then he will be able to use true teaching to comfort others and build them up. He will be able to prove that people who oppose it are wrong.
