1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit[1] and a great chain. (Re 1:18; Re 9:1) 

New International Version

1 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 

New International Reader’s Version

1 I saw an angel coming down out of heaven. He had the key to the Abyss. In his hand he held a heavy chain.

1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
