English Standard Version

5 And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months. (Da 7:8; Da 7:11; Da 7:20; Da 11:36; 2Th 2:4; Re 11:2; Re 12:6) 

New International Version

5 The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise its authority for forty-two months. 

New International Reader’s Version

5 The beast was given a mouth to boast and speak evil things against God. The beast was allowed to use its authority for 42 months. 

King James Version

5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
