Psalm 78:55

English Standard Version

55 He drove out nations before them; he apportioned them for a possession and settled the tribes of Israel in their tents. (Jos 23:4; Ps 44:2; Ps 135:12; Ps 136:21; Ac 13:19) 

New International Version

55 He drove out nations before them and allotted their lands to them as an inheritance; he settled the tribes of Israel in their homes. 

New International Reader’s Version

55 He drove out the nations to make room for his people. He gave to each family a piece of land to pass on to their children. He gave the tribes of Israel a place to make their homes. 

King James Version

55 He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
