18 But Balaam answered and said to the servants of Balak, “Though Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not go beyond the command of the Lord my God to do less or more. (Nu 22:38; Nu 23:26; Nu 24:13; 1Ki 22:14; 2Ch 18:13) 

New International Version

18 But Balaam answered them, ‘Even if Balak gave me all the silver and gold in his palace, I could not do anything great or small to go beyond the command of the Lord my God. 

New International Reader’s Version

18 But Balaam gave them his answer. He said, ‘Balak could give me all the silver and gold in his palace. Even then, I still couldn’t do anything at all that goes beyond what the LORD my God commands. 

King James Version

18 And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the LORD my God, to do less or more.
