2 And all the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron. The whole congregation said to them, “Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or would that we had died in this wilderness! (Ex 15:24; Ex 16:2; Ex 17:3; Nu 14:27; Nu 14:29; Nu 14:33; Nu 16:41; Jos 9:18; Ps 106:25) 

New International Version

2 All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, ‘If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness! 

New International Reader’s Version

2 The Israelites spoke against Moses and Aaron. The whole community said to them, ‘We wish we had died in Egypt or even in this desert. 

King James Version

2 And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!
