Nehemiah 6:9

English Standard Version

9 For they all wanted to frighten us, thinking, “Their hands will drop from the work, and it will not be done.” But now, O God,[1] strengthen my hands.

New International Version

9 They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, ‘Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed.’ But I prayed, ‘Now strengthen my hands.’

New International Reader’s Version

9 All of them were trying to frighten us. They thought, ‘Their hands will get too weak to do the work. So it won’t be completed.’ But I prayed to God. I said, ‘Make my hands stronger.’

King James Version

9 For they all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God , strengthen my hands.
