26 But if we say, ‘From man,’ we are afraid of the crowd, for they all hold that John was a prophet.” (Mt 11:9; Mt 14:5; Mt 21:46; Joh 5:35)

New International Version

26 But if we say, “Of human origin” – we are afraid of the people, for they all hold that John was a prophet.’

26 But what if we say, “From human authority”? We are afraid of the people. Everyone believes that John was a prophet.’
