English Standard Version

2 during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John the son of Zechariah in the wilderness. (Jos 15:61; Jud 1:16; Mt 3:1; Mt 26:3; Mr 1:2; Lu 1:80; Joh 1:6; Joh 18:13; Joh 18:24; Ac 4:6) 

New International Version

2 during the high-priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the wilderness. 

New International Reader’s Version

2 Annas and Caiaphas were high priests. At that time God’s word came to John, son of Zechariah, in the desert. 

King James Version

2 Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.
