32 They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?” (Ps 39:3; Lu 24:45) 

New International Version

32 They asked each other, ‘Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?’ 

New International Reader’s Version

32 They said to each other, ‘He explained to us what the Scriptures meant. Weren’t we excited as he talked with us on the road?’ 

King James Version

32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
