John 7:18

English Standard Version

18 The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood. (Joh 5:41; Joh 8:50) 

New International Version

18 Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him. 

New International Reader’s Version

18 Whoever speaks on their own does it to get personal honour. But someone who works for the honour of the one who sent him is truthful. Nothing about him is false. 

King James Version

18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
