John 21:19

English Standard Version

19 (This he said to show by what kind of death he was to glorify God.) And after saying this he said to him, “Follow me.” (Mt 16:24; Joh 8:12; Joh 13:36; Joh 21:22; 2Pe 1:14) 

New International Version

19 Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, ‘Follow me!’ 

New International Reader’s Version

19 Jesus said this to point out how Peter would die. His death would bring glory to God. Then Jesus said to him, ‘Follow me!’ 

King James Version

19 This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.
