20 He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.” (Lu 3:15; Joh 1:8; Joh 3:28; Ac 13:25) 

New International Version

20 He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, ‘I am not the Messiah.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

20 He did not try to hide the truth. He spoke to them openly. He said, ‘I am not the Messiah.’
