28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), “I thirst.” (Ps 69:21; Joh 4:6; Joh 19:24; Joh 19:30) 

New International Version

28 Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, ‘I am thirsty.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

28 Later, Jesus knew that everything had now been finished. He also knew that what Scripture said must come true. So he said, ‘I am thirsty.’

28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
