Jeremiah 44:29

English Standard Version

29 This shall be the sign to you, declares the Lord, that I will punish you in this place, in order that you may know that my words will surely stand against you for harm: (Pr 19:21) 

New International Version

29 ‘ “This will be the sign to you that I will punish you in this place,” declares the Lord, “so that you will know that my threats of harm against you will surely stand.” 

New International Reader’s Version

29 ‘ “I will give you a sign that I will punish you in this place,” announces the LORD. “Then you can be sure that my warnings of harm against you will come true.”
