Jeremiah 23:36

English Standard Version

36 But ‘the burden of the Lord’ you shall mention no more, for the burden is every man’s own word, and you pervert the words of the living God, the Lord of hosts, our God. (Ps 42:2; Mt 15:6)

New International Version

36 But you must not mention “a message from the Lord” again, because each one’s word becomes their own message. So you distort the words of the living God, the Lord Almighty, our God.

New International Reader’s Version

36 But you must not talk about “a message from the LORD” again. That’s because each person’s own words become their message. And so you twist the LORD’s words. He is the living God. He is the LORD who rules over all. And he is our God.

King James Version

36 And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man' word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.
