Isaiah 8:7

English Standard Version

7 therefore, behold, the Lord is bringing up against them the waters of the River,[1] mighty and many, the king of Assyria and all his glory. And it will rise over all its channels and go over all its banks, (Isa 7:20; Isa 17:12; Jer 46:8) 

New International Version

7 therefore the Lord is about to bring against them the mighty floodwaters of the Euphrates – the king of Assyria with all his pomp. It will overflow all its channels, run over all its banks 

New International Reader’s Version

7 So I am about to bring against these people the king of Assyria and his whole army. The Assyrians will be like the mighty River Euphrates when it is flooding. They will run over everything in their path.
