Isaiah 11:1

English Standard Version

1 There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit. (Isa 11:10; Ac 13:23) 

New International Version

1 A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. 

New International Reader’s Version

1 Jesse’s family is like a tree that has been cut down. A new little tree will grow from its stump. From its roots a Branch will grow and produce fruit.

1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
