2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have any consciousness of sins? 

New International Version

2 Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshippers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. 

New International Reader’s Version

2 If the law could, wouldn’t the sacrifices have stopped being offered? The worshippers would have been made ‘clean’ once and for all time. They would not have felt guilty for their sins anymore. 

King James Version

2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
