Genesis 3:1

English Standard Version

1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You[1] shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” (Mt 10:16; 2Co 11:3; Re 12:9; Re 20:2) 

New International Version

1 Now the snake was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, ‘Did God really say, “You must not eat from any tree in the garden”?’ 

New International Reader’s Version

1 The snake was more clever than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. The snake said to the woman, ‘Did God really say, “You must not eat fruit from any tree in the garden”?’ 

King James Version

1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
