English Standard Version

3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than any other of his sons, because he was the son of his old age. And he made him a robe of many colors.[1] (Ge 37:23; Ge 37:32; Ge 44:20) 

New International Version

3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his old age; and he made an ornate[1] robe for him. 

New International Reader’s Version

3 Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons. That’s because Joseph had been born to him when he was old. Israel made him a beautiful robe. 

King James Version

3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.
