Genesis 35:7

English Standard Version

7 and there he built an altar and called the place El-bethel,[1] because there God had revealed himself to him when he fled from his brother. (Ge 35:1) 

New International Version

7 There he built an altar, and he called the place El Bethel,[1] because it was there that God revealed himself to him when he was fleeing from his brother. 

New International Reader’s Version

7 Jacob built an altar at Luz. He named the place El Bethel. There God made himself known to Jacob when he was running away from his brother. 

King James Version

7 And he built there an altar, and called the place Elbethel: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.
