Genesis 35:1

English Standard Version

1 God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there. Make an altar there to the God who appeared to you when you fled from your brother Esau.” (Ge 27:43; Ge 28:19) 

New International Version

1 Then God said to Jacob, ‘Go up to Bethel and settle there, and build an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you were fleeing from your brother Esau.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

1 Then God said to Jacob, ‘Go up to Bethel and live there. Build an altar there to honour me. That’s where I appeared to you when you were running away from your brother Esau.’ 

King James Version

1 And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.
