Ezra 5:3

English Standard Version

3 At the same time Tattenai the governor of the province Beyond the River and Shethar-bozenai and their associates came to them and spoke to them thus: “Who gave you a decree to build this house and to finish this structure?” (Ezr 4:12; Ezr 6:6; Ezr 6:13) 

New International Version

3 At that time Tattenai, governor of Trans-Euphrates, and Shethar-Bozenai and their associates went to them and asked, ‘Who authorised you to rebuild this temple and to finish it?’ 

New International Reader’s Version

3 At that time Tattenai was governor of the land west of the River Euphrates. He and Shethar-Bozenai and their friends went to the Jews. They asked them, ‘Who authorised you to rebuild this temple? Who told you that you could finish it?’ 

King James Version

3 At the same time came to them Tatnai, governor on this side the river, and Shetharboznai, and their companions, and said thus unto them, Who hath commanded you to build this house, and to make up this wall?
