15 “Thus says the Lord God: Because the Philistines acted revengefully and took vengeance with malice of soul to destroy in never-ending enmity, (Isa 14:29; Jer 25:20; Jer 47:1; Eze 25:6; Eze 25:12; Eze 36:5; Joe 3:4; Am 1:6; Zep 2:4)

15 ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “Because the Philistines acted in vengeance and took revenge with malice in their hearts, and with ancient hostility sought to destroy Judah,

15 The LORD and King says, ‘Deep down inside them, the Philistines hated Judah. So the Philistines tried to get even with them. They had been Judah’s enemies for many years. So they tried to destroy them.’

15 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with a despiteful heart, to destroy it for the old hatred;
