New International Version

16 The king, moreover, must not acquire great numbers of horses for himself or make the people return to Egypt to get more of them, for the Lord has told you, ‘You are not to go back that way again.’

New International Reader’s Version

16 The king must not get large numbers of horses for himself. He must not make the people return to Egypt to get more horses. The LORD has told you, ‘You must not go back there again.’

16 But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.
