Amos 1:8

8 I will cut off the inhabitants from Ashdod, and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon; I will turn my hand against Ekron, and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish,” says the Lord God. (1Sa 5:1; Am 3:9) 

New International Version

8 I will destroy the king[1] of Ashdod and the one who holds the sceptre in Ashkelon. I will turn my hand against Ekron, till the last of the Philistines are dead,’ says the Sovereign Lord. 

New International Reader’s Version

8 I will kill the king of Ashdod. He holds the ruler’s sceptre in Ashkelon. I will use my power against Ekron. Every single Philistine will die,’ says the LORD and King.
