Status of Accessibility Implementation
The legal requirements result from the Accessibility Enhancement Act (BFSG) and the Regulation on the Accessibility Enhancement Act (BFSGV, European Accessibility Act (EAA). These laws and regulations refer to the Harmonized European Standard (EN) 301 549, Version 3.2.1, based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), Version 2.1, Levels A and AA.
The review of compliance with the requirements is based on a self-assessment conducted in June 2025.
This website bibleserver.com is partially compliant with the aforementioned requirements due to the following exceptions. The exceptions are listed below.
Non-Accessible Content
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:
- The technical implementation of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Version 2.1, Levels A and AA requirements has not (yet) been completed at the time of creating this statement due to disproportionate burden. This affects various areas of the website. The implementation is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025.
- The website meets the WCAG requirements for sufficient contrast between foreground and background only in dark mode. This can be accessed from any page via the main menu (hamburger icon) or via the following link: Activate Dark Mode
- No transcripts are available for the audio Bibles. However, the Bibles are alternatively available in text form.
- The website's user interface uses the Vuetify library. Vuetify components are designed to enable keyboard interactions for all mouse-based actions and, where possible, use semantic HTML5 elements. Although Vuetify has high accessibility standards, we cannot guarantee that the WCAG 2.1 standard is consistently implemented. Interfering with third-party components would be a disproportionate burden, so adjustments are only made within the scope of official interfaces.
