لا تنسوا الرب

1 فَاحْفَظُوا جَمِيعَ الْوَصَايَا الَّتِي أُوصِيكُمْ بِها الْيَوْمَ لِتُمَارِسُوهَا، فَتَحْيَوْا وَتَتَكَاثَرُوا وَتَدْخُلُوا لامْتِلاكِ الأَرْضِ الَّتِي أَقْسَمَ الرَّبُّ عَلَيْهَا لِآبَائِكُمْ. 

2 وَتَذَكَّرُوا كَيْفَ قَادَكُمُ الرَّبُّ إِلَهُكُمْ فِي كُلِّ طَرِيقِ الصَّحْرَاءِ هَذِهِ الأَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً لِيُذِلَّكُمْ وَيَمْتَحِنَكُمْ، فَيَعْرِفَ مَا فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ: إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَحْفَظُونَ أَوَامِرَهُ أَمْ تَعْصَوْنَهُ. 

3 فَأَذَلَّكُمْ ثُمَّ أَجَاعَكُمْ وَأَطْعَمَكُمُ الْمَنَّ الَّذِي لَمْ تَكُونُوا تَعْرِفُونَهُ، لَا أَنْتُمْ وَلا آبَاؤُكُمْ لِيُعَلِّمَكُمْ أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِالْخُبْزِ وَحْدَهُ يَحْيَا الإِنْسَانُ، بَلْ بِكُلِّ كَلِمَةٍ يَنْطِقُ بِها فَمُ الرَّبِّ. 

4 وَفِي غُضُونِ الأَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً لَمْ تَبْلَ ثِيَابُكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ، وَلَمْ تَتَوَرَّمْ أَقْدَامُكُمْ. 

5 فَاعْلَمُوا إِذاً فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ أَنَّ الرَّبَّ إِلَهَكُمْ قَدْ أَدَّبَكُمْ كَمَا يُؤَدِّبُ الْمَرْءُ ابْنَهُ. 

6 فَأَطِيعُوا وَصَايَا الرَّبِّ إِلَهِكُمْ لِتَسْلُكُوا فِي سُبُلِهِ وَاتَّقُوهُ. 

7 لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ إِلَهَكُمْ آتٍ بِكُمْ إِلَى أَرْضٍ خَصِيبَةٍ، تَكْثُرُ فِيهَا الأَنْهَارُ وَالآبَارُ، وَعُيُونُ مَاءٍ تَتَدَفَّقُ فِي الْوِدْيَانِ وَالْجِبَالِ. 

8 إِلَى أَرْضِ قَمْحٍ وَشَعِيرٍ وَكُرُومٍ وَتِينٍ وَرُمَّانٍ وَزَيْتُونٍ وَعَسَلٍ. 

9 إِلَى أَرْضٍ لَا تَأْكُلُونَ بِالذُّلِّ خُبْزَكُمْ وَلا يُعْوِزُكُمْ فِيهَا شَيْءٌ. هِيَ أَرْضٌ يَتَوَافَرُ فِي حِجَارَتِهَا الْحَدِيدُ، وَمِنْ جِبَالِهَا تَسْتَخْرِجُونَ النُّحَاسَ. 

10 فَمَتَى أَكَلْتُمْ وَشَبِعْتُمْ بَارِكُوا الرَّبَّ إِلَهَكُمُ الَّذِي وَهَبَكُمْ هَذِهِ الأَرْضَ الْخَصِيبَةَ. 

11 إِيَّاكُمْ نِسْيَانَ الرَّبِّ إِلَهِكُمْ وَإِهْمَالَ وَصَايَاهُ وَأَحْكَامِهِ وَفَرَائِضِهِ الَّتِي أُوصِيكُمُ الْيَوْمَ بِها، 

12 لِئَلّا إِذَا أَكَلْتُمْ وَشَبِعْتُمْ وَبَنَيْتُمْ بُيُوتاً جَمِيلَةً سَكَنْتُمُوهَا، 

13 وَتَكَاثَرَتْ أَبْقَارُكُمْ وَغَنَمُكُمْ وَذَهَبُكُمْ وَجَمِيعُ مَا لَكُمْ. 

14 تَتَكَبَّرُ قُلُوبُكُمْ وَتَنْسَوْنَ الرَّبَّ إِلَهَكُمُ الَّذِي أَطْلَقَكُمْ مِنْ نِيرِ عُبُودِيَّةِ دِيَارِ مِصْرَ، 

15 وَقَادَكُمْ فِي الصَّحْرَاءِ الشَّاسِعَةِ الْمَهُولَةِ، حَيْثُ تَكْمُنُ أَفَاعٍ سَامَّةٌ وَعَقَارِبُ وَعَطَشٌ لِخُلُوِّهَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ، فَفَجَّرَ لَكُمْ مَاءً مِنْ صَخْرَةِ الصَّوَّانِ. 

16 الَّذِي أَطْعَمَكُمْ فِي الصَّحْرَاءِ الْمَنَّ الَّذِي لَمْ يَعْرِفْهُ آبَاؤُكُمْ لِيُذِلَّكُمْ وَيَمْتَحِنَكُمْ، فَيُحْسِنَ إِلَيْكُمْ فِي آخِرَتِكُمْ، 

17 خَوْفاً مِنْ أَنْ تَقُولُوا فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ: لَقَدْ أَحْرَزْنَا هَذَا الثَّرَاءَ بِفَضْلِ قُوَّتِنَا وَقُدْرَةِ أَيْدِينَا. 

18 وَلَكِنِ اذْكُرُوا أَنَّ الرَّبَّ إِلَهَكُمْ هُوَ الَّذِي يَمْنَحُكُمُ الْقُوَّةَ لإِحْرَازِ الثَّرْوَةِ، وَفَاءً بِوَعْدِهِ الَّذِي أَقْسَمَ عَلَيْهِ لِآبَائِكُمْ كَمَا فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ. 

19 أَمَّا إِنْ نَسِيتُمُ الرَّبَّ إِلَهَكُمْ، وَغَوَيْتُمْ وَرَاءَ آلِهَةٍ أُخْرَى وَعَبَدْتُمُوهَا وَسَجَدْتُمْ لَهَا، فَإِنَّنِي أُشْهِدُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ لَا مَحَالَةَ هَالِكُونَ. 

20 كَالأُمَمِ الَّتِي يُبِيدُهَا الرَّبُّ مِنْ أَمَامِكُمْ هَكَذَا أَنْتُمْ أَيْضاً تَبِيدُونَ، لأَنَّكُمْ لَمْ تُطِيعُوا أَمْرَ الرَّبِّ إِلَهِكُمْ.

La terra promessa e la gratitudine verso Dio

1 «Abbiate cura di mettere in pratica tutti i comandamenti che oggi vi do, affinché viviate, moltiplichiate ed entriate in possesso del paese che il Signore giurò di dare ai vostri padri. 

2 Ricòrdati di tutto il cammino che il Signore, il tuo Dio, ti ha fatto fare in questi quarant’anni nel deserto per umiliarti e metterti alla prova, per sapere quello che avevi nel cuore e se tu avresti osservato o no i suoi comandamenti. 

3 Egli dunque ti ha umiliato, ti ha fatto provare la fame, poi ti ha nutrito di manna, che tu non conoscevi e che i tuoi padri non avevano mai conosciuto, per insegnarti che l’uomo non vive soltanto di pane, ma che vive di tutto quello che procede dalla bocca del Signore. 

4 Il tuo vestito non ti si è logorato addosso, e il tuo piede non si è gonfiato durante questi quarant’anni. 

5 Riconosci dunque in cuor tuo che, come un uomo corregge suo figlio, così il Signore, il tuo Dio, corregge te. 

6 Osserva i comandamenti del Signore tuo Dio; cammina nelle sue vie e temilo, 

7 perché il Signore, il tuo Dio, sta per farti entrare in un buon paese: paese di corsi d’acqua, di laghi e di sorgenti che nascono nelle valli e nei monti; 

8 paese di frumento, d’orzo, di vigne, di fichi e di melograni; paese d’ulivi e di miele; 

9 paese dove mangerai del pane a volontà, dove non ti mancherà nulla; paese dove le pietre sono ferro e dai cui monti scaverai il rame. 

10 Mangerai dunque e ti sazierai e benedirai il Signore, il tuo Dio, a motivo del buon paese che ti avrà dato. 

11 Guàrdati dal dimenticare il Signore, il tuo Dio, al punto da non osservare i suoi comandamenti, le sue prescrizioni e le sue leggi che oggi ti do; 

12 affinché non avvenga, dopo che avrai mangiato a sazietà e avrai costruito e abitato delle belle case, 

13 dopo che avrai visto il tuo bestiame grosso e minuto moltiplicarsi, accrescersi il tuo argento, il tuo oro e abbondare ogni tua cosa, 

14 che il tuo cuore si insuperbisca e tu dimentichi il Signore, il tuo Dio, che ti ha fatto uscire dal paese d’Egitto, dalla casa di schiavitù; 

15 che ti ha condotto attraverso questo grande e terribile deserto, pieno di serpenti velenosi e di scorpioni, terra arida, senz’acqua; che ha fatto sgorgare per te acqua dalla roccia durissima; 

16 che nel deserto ti ha nutrito di manna che i tuoi padri non avevano mai conosciuta, per umiliarti e per provarti, per farti, alla fine, del bene. 

17 Guàrdati dunque dal dire in cuor tuo: “La mia forza e la potenza della mia mano mi hanno procurato queste ricchezze”. 

18 Ricòrdati del Signore tuo Dio, poiché egli ti dà la forza per procurarti ricchezze, per confermare, come fa oggi, il patto che giurò ai tuoi padri. 

19 Ma se ti dimenticherai del Signore tuo Dio, e seguirai altri dèi e li servirai e ti prostrerai davanti a loro, io vi dichiaro oggi solennemente che certo perirete. 

20 Perirete come le nazioni che il Signore fa perire davanti a voi, perché non avrete dato ascolto alla voce del Signore vostro Dio.

Remember the Lord Your God

1 “The whole commandment that I command you today you shall be careful to do, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land that the LORD swore to give to your fathers. (تث 4:1; تث 5:32; تث 5:33; تث 6:1) 

2 And you shall remember the whole way that the LORD your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not. (خر 15:25; خر 16:4; تث 1:3; تث 2:7; تث 8:16; تث 29:5; قض 3:4; 2أخ 32:31; عا 2:10) 

3 And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. 4 Your clothing did not wear out on you and your foot did not swell these forty years. (تث 29:5; نح 9:21) 

5 Know then in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, the LORD your God disciplines you. (2صم 7:14; أم 3:12; أم 29:17; هو 10:10; عب 12:5; عب 12:6; رؤ 3:19) 

6 So you shall keep the commandments of the LORD your God by walking in his ways and by fearing him. 

7 For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing out in the valleys and hills, (تث 11:10) 

8 a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive trees and honey, (عد 20:5) 

9 a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing, a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you can dig copper. 

10 And you shall eat and be full, and you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land he has given you. 

11 “Take care lest you forget the LORD your God by not keeping his commandments and his rules and his statutes, which I command you today, 

12 lest, when you have eaten and are full and have built good houses and live in them, (تث 6:11; تث 6:12; تث 28:47; تث 32:15; أم 30:9; هو 13:6) 

13 and when your herds and flocks multiply and your silver and gold is multiplied and all that you have is multiplied, 

14 then your heart be lifted up, and you forget the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, (مز 78:11; مز 106:21; 1كو 4:7) 

15 who led you through the great and terrifying wilderness, with its fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground where there was no water, who brought you water out of the flinty rock, (خر 17:6; عد 20:11; عد 21:6; تث 1:19; مز 78:15; مز 114:8; إش 30:6; هو 13:5) 

16 who fed you in the wilderness with manna that your fathers did not know, that he might humble you and test you, to do you good in the end. (خر 16:15; تث 8:3; إر 24:5; عب 12:11) 

17 Beware lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.’ (تث 9:4) 

18 You shall remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day. (تث 7:8; تث 7:12; أم 10:22; هو 2:8) 

19 And if you forget the LORD your God and go after other gods and serve them and worship them, I solemnly warn you today that you shall surely perish. (تث 4:26; تث 30:18) 

20 Like the nations that the LORD makes to perish before you, so shall you perish, because you would not obey the voice of the LORD your God. (دا 9:11; دا 9:12)
