Fear God, Wait for the Lord
11For the Lord spoke thus to me with his strong hand upon me, and warned me not to walk in the way of this people, saying: (Eze 2:8)12“Do not call conspiracy all that this people calls conspiracy, and do not fear what they fear, nor be in dread. (Isa 7:2; 1Pe 3:14)13But the Lord of hosts, him you shall honor as holy. Let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. (Nu 20:12)14And he will become a sanctuary and a stone of offense and a rock of stumbling to both houses of Israel, a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 5Der HERR sprach weiter zu mir und sagte:6Weil dieses Volk die ruhig fließenden Wasser von Schiloach verachtet und Freude hat an Rezin und dem Sohn Remaljas,7darum, siehe, lässt der Herr die gewaltigen und großen Wasser des Eufrat, den König von Assur und seine ganze Macht, über sie emporsteigen. Er wird über alle seine Kanäle steigen und über all seine Ufer treten.8Er wird über Juda dahinfahren, es überfluten und überschwemmen, bis zum Hals wird er reichen. Und seine ausgespannten Flügel füllen die Breite deines Landes, o Immanuel!9Tobt, ihr Völker! Ihr werdet doch zerschmettert. / Horcht auf, ihr Enden der Erde!

Er wird vereitelt. / Verabredet eine Sache, sie kommt nicht zustande. / Denn Gott ist mit uns.11Denn so sprach der HERR zu mir - wie mit starker Hand - und verbot mir, auf dem Weg dieses Volkes zu gehen:12Nennt nicht alles Verschwörung, / was dieses Volk Verschwörung nennt!
Was es fürchtet, sollt ihr nicht fürchten; / wovor es erschrickt, davor sollt ihr nicht erschrecken. (1Pe 3:14)13Den HERRN der Heerscharen sollt ihr heilig halten; / vor ihm sollt ihr euch fürchten, / vor ihm sollt ihr erschrecken.14Er wird zum Heiligtum werden, / zum Stein des Anstoßes und zum Felsen, / an dem man strauchelt, für die beiden Häuser Israels:

Jüngerschaft, nicht Totenbefragung
19Und wenn sie zu euch sagen: Befragt die Totengeister und Zauberkundigen, die flüstern und murmeln: Soll ein Volk nicht seinen Gott befragen, zugunsten der Lebenden die Toten?20Weisung und Bezeugung: Wer nicht diesem Wort entsprechend spricht, für den gibt es kein Morgenrot.21So wird man umherziehen, bedrückt und hungrig. Und wenn man Hunger leidet, wird man wütend und verwünscht seinen König und seinen Gott. Man wendet sich nach oben22und blickt zur Erde. Aber siehe: Not und Finsternis, dunkle Bedrängnis und in Finsternis ist man verstoßen! (Isa 5:30)

23Doch das Dunkel bleibt nicht dort, wo Bedrängnis ist. Wie er in früherer Zeit das Land Sebulon und das Land Naftali verachtet hat, so hat er später den Weg am Meer zu Ehren gebracht, das Land jenseits des Jordan, das Gebiet der Nationen. (Mt 4:13)

1Il Signore mi disse: «Prendi una tavoletta grande[1] e scrivici sopra in caratteri leggibili: “Affrettate il saccheggio! Presto, al bottino!”»2Mi scelsi come testimoni fedeli il sacerdote Uria e Zaccaria, figlio di Ieberechia.3Mi unii pure alla profetessa, e lei concepì e partorì un figlio. Allora il Signore mi disse: «Chiamalo “Affrettate il saccheggio. Presto al bottino”;4poiché prima che il bambino sappia chiamare papà e mamma, le ricchezze di Damasco e il bottino di Samaria saranno portati davanti al re d’Assiria».5Il Signore mi parlò ancora e mi disse:6«Siccome questo popolo ha disprezzato le acque di Siloe che scorrono placide, e si rallegra a causa di Resin e del figlio di Remalia,7ecco, il Signore sta per far salire su di loro le potenti e grandi acque del fiume, cioè il re d’Assiria e tutta la sua gloria; esso s’innalzerà dappertutto sopra il suo livello, e strariperà su tutte le sue sponde.8Passerà sopra Giuda, inonderà e passerà oltre; arriverà fino al collo, e le sue ali spiegate copriranno tutta la larghezza del tuo paese, o Emmanuele!»9Mandate pure grida di guerra, o popoli; sarete frantumati! Sia lui quello per cui provate timore e paura!14Egli sarà un santuario, ma anche una pietra d’intoppo, un sasso d’inciampo per le due case d’Israele, un laccio e una rete per gli abitanti di Gerusalemme.15Molti di loro inciamperanno, cadranno, saranno infranti, rimarranno nel laccio e saranno presi.16Chiudi questa testimonianza, sigilla questa legge tra i miei discepoli».17Io aspetto il Signore, che nasconde la sua faccia alla casa di Giacobbe; in lui ripongo la mia speranza.18Eccomi con i figli che il Signore mi ha dati; noi siamo dei segni e dei presagi in Israele da parte del Signore degli eserciti, che abita sul monte Sion.19Se vi si dice: «Consultate quelli che evocano gli spiriti e gli indovini, quelli che sussurrano e bisbigliano», rispondete: «Un popolo non deve forse consultare il suo Dio? Si rivolgerà forse ai morti in favore dei vivi?20Alla legge! Alla testimonianza!» Se il popolo non parla così, non vi sarà per lui nessuna aurora!21Andrà peregrinando per il paese, affranto e affamato; quando avrà fame, si irriterà e maledirà il suo re e il suo Dio. Volgerà lo sguardo in alto,22lo volgerà verso terra, ed ecco, non vedrà che difficoltà, tenebre e oscurità piena d’angoscia; sarà sospinto in mezzo a fitte tenebre.
Tempi messianici
23Ma le tenebre non dureranno sempre sulla terra che è ora nell’angoscia. Come nei tempi passati Dio coprì di obbrobrio il paese di Zabulon e il paese di Neftali, così nei tempi a venire coprirà di gloria la terra vicina al mare[2], di là dal Giordano, la Galilea dei Gentili.
