(2Mo 25,10; 2Mo 34,1)2Und ich werde auf die Tafeln die Worte schreiben, die auf den ersten Tafeln waren, die du zerbrochen hast. Und du sollst sie in die Lade legen. (2Mo 25,16; 2Mo 32,19)3Und ich machte eine Lade aus Akazienholz und hieb zwei steinerne Tafeln aus, wie die ersten. Und ich stieg auf den Berg, die zwei Tafeln in meiner Hand. (2Mo 25,10; 2Mo 34,4)4Und er schrieb auf die Tafeln, ⟨ebenso⟩ wie die erste Schrift ⟨war⟩, die zehn Worte, die der HERR auf dem Berg mitten aus dem Feuer zu euch geredet hatte am Tag der Versammlung. Und der HERR gab sie mir. (5Mo 4,12; 2Kor 3,7)5Und ich wandte mich und stieg vom Berg herab. Und ich legte die Tafeln in die Lade, die ich gemacht hatte; und dort blieben sie, wie der HERR mir geboten hatte. (2Mo 25,21; 2Mo 34,28; 2Mo 40,20)6Und die Söhne Israel brachen auf[1] von Beerot-Bene-Jaakan nach Moser. Dort starb Aaron, und dort wurde er begraben. Und an seiner Stelle übte sein Sohn, Eleasar, den Priesterdienst aus. (4Mo 20,28; 4Mo 33,30)7Von dort brachen sie auf nach Gudgoda und von Gudgoda nach Jotbata, einem Land mit Wasserbächen. (4Mo 33,33)8In jener Zeit sonderte der HERR den Stamm Levi dazu aus, die Lade des Bundes des HERRN zu tragen, vor dem HERRN zu stehen, um seinen Dienst zu verrichten und in seinem Namen zu segnen, bis auf diesen Tag. (4Mo 3,6; 4Mo 3,31; 4Mo 8,5; 4Mo 8,6; 5Mo 18,5; 5Mo 21,5; 5Mo 31,9; 1Chr 15,2; 1Chr 23,13)9Darum bekam Levi weder Anteil noch ein Erbe mit seinen Brüdern. Der HERR selbst ist sein Erbteil, so wie der HERR, dein Gott, ihm zugesagt hat. (4Mo 18,20; 5Mo 12,12; 5Mo 14,27; 5Mo 18,1)10Ich aber stand auf dem Berg wie die vorigen Tage, vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte, und der HERR erhörte mich auch dieses Mal. Der HERR wollte dich nicht vernichten. (2Mo 32,14; 5Mo 9,18)11Und der HERR sprach zu mir: Geh hin, stelle dich[2] zum Aufbruch vor das Volk, damit sie hineinziehen und das Land in Besitz nehmen, von dem ich ihren Vätern geschworen habe, ⟨es⟩ ihnen zu geben! (5Mo 1,8)
Israels Liebe zu Gott: Antwort auf Gottes Liebe zu Israel
12Und nun, Israel, was fordert der HERR, dein Gott, von dir, als nur, den HERRN, deinen Gott, zu fürchten, auf allen seinen Wegen zu gehen und ihn zu lieben und dem HERRN, deinem Gott, zu dienen mit deinem ganzen Herzen und mit deiner ganzen Seele, (5Mo 5,29; 5Mo 5,33; 5Mo 6,5; 5Mo 26,16; 1Sam 12,20; Pred 12,13; Mi 6,8; Lk 1,6)13indem du die Gebote des HERRN und seine Ordnungen, die ich dir heute gebe[3], hältst, dir zum Guten?14Siehe, dem HERRN, deinem Gott, ⟨gehören⟩ der Himmel und die Himmel der Himmel, die Erde und alles, was in ihr ist. (1Mo 14,19; 2Mo 9,29; 2Mo 19,5; 1Kön 8,27; Neh 9,6; Ps 24,1; Ps 115,16)15⟨Doch⟩ nur deinen Vätern hat der HERR sich zugeneigt, sie zu lieben. Und er hat ihre Nachkommen nach ihnen, ⟨nämlich⟩ euch, aus allen Völkern erwählt, so wie ⟨es⟩ heute ⟨ist⟩. (5Mo 4,37; Am 3,2)16So beschneidet denn die Vorhaut eures Herzens und verhärtet euren Nacken nicht mehr! (5Mo 9,6; 5Mo 30,6; 2Chr 30,8; Jer 4,4; Röm 2,29)17Denn der HERR, euer Gott, er ist der Gott der Götter und der Herr der Herren, der große, mächtige und furchtbare Gott, der niemanden bevorzugt[4] und kein Bestechungsgeschenk annimmt, (5Mo 7,21; Jos 22,22; 2Chr 19,7; Jer 32,18; Kol 3,25; 1Tim 6,15; Jak 2,1)18der Recht schafft der Waise und der Witwe und den Fremden liebt, sodass er ihm Brot und Kleidung gibt. (2Mo 22,21; 3Mo 25,35; Ps 68,6; Jer 49,11)19Auch ihr sollt den Fremden lieben; denn Fremde seid ihr im Land Ägypten gewesen. (5Mo 23,8)20Den HERRN, deinen Gott, sollst du fürchten, ihm sollst du dienen und ihm anhängen, und bei seinem Namen sollst du schwören. (5Mo 5,29; 5Mo 6,13; Pred 12,13)21Er ist dein Ruhm, und er ist dein Gott, der jene großen und furchtgebietenden Taten an dir erwiesen hat, die deine Augen gesehen haben. (2Mo 15,2; 2Mo 34,10; 5Mo 4,34; Jos 24,18; Jes 60,19; Jer 17,14)22Mit siebzig Seelen zogen deine Väter nach Ägypten hinab; doch jetzt hat der HERR, dein Gott, dich an Menge gemacht wie die Sterne des Himmels. (1Mo 46,27; 5Mo 1,10; 5Mo 26,5)
1At that time the LORD spoke to me. He said, ‘Carve out two stone tablets, just like the first ones. Then come up to me on the mountain. Also make a wooden ark.2I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke. Then you must put the tablets in the ark.’3So I made the ark out of acacia wood. I carved out two stone tablets that were just like the first ones. I went up the mountain. I carried the two tablets in my hands.4The LORD wrote on the tablets what he had written before. It was the Ten Commandments. He had announced them to you out of the fire on the mountain. It was on the day you had gathered together there. So the LORD gave the tablets to me.5Then I came back down the mountain. I put the tablets in the ark I had made, just as the LORD had commanded me. And that’s where they are now.6Remember how the Israelites travelled from the wells of Bene Jaakan to Moserah. That’s where Aaron died. And his body was buried there. His son Eleazar became the next priest after him.7From Moserah the people travelled to Gudgodah. Then they went on to Jotbathah. That land has streams of water.8At that time the LORD set the tribe of Levi apart. He appointed them to carry the ark of the covenant of the LORD. He wanted them to serve him. He told them to bless the people in his name. And they still do it today.9That’s why the Levites don’t have any part of the land the LORD gave the other tribes in Israel. They don’t have any share among them. The LORD himself is their share. That’s what the LORD your God told them.10I had stayed on the mountain for 40 days and 40 nights, just as I did the first time. The LORD listened to me that time also. He didn’t want to destroy you.11‘Go’, the LORD said to me. ‘Lead the people on their way. Then they can enter the land and take it over. I have given my word. I promised I would give the land to their fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.’
Honour the Lord
12And now, Israel, what is the LORD your God asking you to do? Honour him. Live exactly as he wants you to live. Love him. Serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.13Obey the LORD’s commands and rules. I’m giving them to you today for your own good.14The heavens belong to the LORD your God. Even the highest heavens belong to him. He owns the earth and everything in it.15But the LORD loved your people of long ago very much. You are their children. And he chose you above all the other nations. His love and his promise remain with you to this very day.16So don’t be stubborn anymore. Obey the LORD.17The LORD your God is the greatest God of all. He is the greatest LORD of all. He is the great God. He is mighty and wonderful. He treats everyone the same. He doesn’t accept any money from those who want special favours.18He stands up for widows and for children whose fathers have died. He loves outsiders living among you. He gives them food and clothes.19So you also must love outsiders. Remember that you yourselves were outsiders in Egypt.20Honour the LORD your God. Serve him. Remain true to him. When you make promises, do so in his name.21He is the one you should praise. He’s your God. With your own eyes you saw the great and amazing things he did for you.22Long ago, your people went down into Egypt. The total number of them was 70. And now the LORD your God has made you as many as the stars in the sky.
